Who can sail with us? You. If you’re between 12 and 24, and ready to get stuck in, work in a team and push yourself to do something exceptional, you can become James Cook crew.
People who’ve sailed with us say it was a life changing experience: some made friends for life, some went on to sail the world as professional sailors. No one comes away from the sea without it touching them. Come and try it out: a weekend, or better still five days will give you the chance to get your sea legs and get the hang of the dozens of challenges you’ll meet at sea.
Steering this 50 tonne boat in a wind, heaving as a team with the rest of your watch to get the big mainsail up and set right. The world seen from the sea is a very different place, and after a day on deck you’ll feel different. You can sail with us, and if you’re suited you might want to train to become one of our sea staff – training to lead a watch, become a mate.
